The day

What the day feels like

What families can expect, based on past years.

    Free toys, chosen by the kids

    Children shop for their own gifts with a volunteer at their side. In 2025, kids shopped alongside a volunteer Elf.

  • A holiday meal

    Families sit down together to a holiday meal.

    A day of fun

    Bounce houses, festive activities and visits with Santa.

    Neighbors who care

    Peoria Police and Fire have joined families on site at past events, along with hundreds of local volunteers.

There is no cost to attend. Everything is donated by local businesses, community partners and people who live here. Activities shown are from past years.

Where to start

  1. Get helpFree toys and a holiday meal for registered families.
  2. VolunteerGift wrapping, set-up and sorting, meals, activities, clean-up and fundraising.
  3. SponsorDay of Giving packages from $1,000 to $25,000, bike sponsorship from $150, and year-round partnerships from $50,000.
  4. GiveMoney, or new toys and warm clothes.

Our story

Arizona's largest single-day giving event. It started on December 16, 2017, with 80 families. In 2025, 2,268 family groups came through, with 6,169 children under 18 registered.

Purposeful Giving Alliance is the year-round 501(c)(3) nonprofit behind A Day of Giving (EIN 33-3306350).

Year-round

The nonprofit behind the day

A Day of Giving is operated by Purposeful Giving Alliance, a year-round 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 33-3306350) founded in early 2025. Beyond this December Saturday, it runs back-to-school backpack drives and supports the families of police, fire and other service workers lost in the line of duty.
